Digital picture frames are old news but Casio has put a new spin on it with the Digital Art Frame recently unveiled at CES. The10.2-inch, WSVGA color LCD frame has a series of special effects that can transform snapshots into pieces that look like paintings.Users can create up to eight different styles of art from a photo: Water Color Painting, Color Pencil Sketch, Pastel Painting, Pointillism, Air Brush, Oil Painting, Gothic Oil Painting, and Fauvist Oil Painting. The device has 2GB of internal memory, two SD cards slots, a USB output, and wireless LAN connectivity. It will be available this spring but the price hasn’t been announced yet.... Read more

Guys with a penchant for going green should take note of this new computer from HP. With pricing starting at $849, the HP Compaq 8000f Elite Ultra Slim Desktop PC is being touted as the industry’s first Microsoft Windows(R) based desktop PC to be free of brominated flame retardants and polyvinyl chloride from the wall to the mouse. Judging by the clunky ‘puter in the given image we’re not so sure about the slim part unless they’re referring to slimming down hazardous materials. The PC powered by Intel® Core or Core vPro processors and claims to be 30 percent more energy efficient compared to previous models.
