Publishing titan Hearst is betting on the e-reader to help migrate their print media business into the digital medium with their new Skiff Reader device. The device will have access to Sprint’s wireless 3G network for downloading and purchasing books and will offer a large high-resolution (1200×1600) touchscreen display which is the first to use LG’s “Metal Foil” e-Paper technology. Greenpeace released its latest iteration of the electronics guide ranking manufacturers on the sustainability of their products and processes. Turns out there was a reason for HP to get a little huffy about Greenpeace tagging their roof - they had a nearly PVC- and BFR-free computer up their sleeve!
