Apologies for the late post here…and a shout out to our DVR! We saw the serious side of Tool Academy last week (and a lot less skin) but the douchey shenanigans continued as our beloved dysfunctional heterosexual couples tackled the age old problem of fidelity. In this post, we’ll talk Tool Academy and a little high fidelity.
SPOILER ALERT!
You almost have to feel sorry for the guys on this episode. It’s not that infidelity or heavy flirting aren’t major signs of being an ass-wipe but well, coming from the gayborhood, many of us have a slightly less dramatic and monolithic view on the subject. The previews already let it be known that Shawn (aka Loud Mouth Tool and one of our favorite guys on the show) had two girlfriends. Was anyone surprised when the second girlfriend stormed onto the set demanding answers? No..but we sure were surprised when the new girl joined the show and Shawn told the girl he started the show with to take a hike.
But the real hook for this week’s episode was the curiously supergay storyline that is developing for our other favorite dickhead, Matsuflex (aka Naked Tool). Ok, so what red blooded straight dude wins a conjugal visit with his girlfriend after spending about a week in a house full of guys and spends the entire time cuddling? Ok, granted Matsuflex’s girl doesn’t want to have full on sex yet but come on! There are other things you can do! But lets give them that… maybe he was trying to be respectful. The true question remains: What straight guy do you know would not have sex with their girlfriend and then come back to a house full of sausage, remove their pants and walk around in an ass-revealing pink jockstrap with rhinestones? We knew one straight guy like that and not only did he dance atop bars in gay bars, but well, lets just say it wasn’t too hard to make him less than straight. Vh1 didn’t spend nearly enough time exploring this aspect of the show.
That’s all you need to know from last week’s show…oh, and the dude with the funny looking nose who oozes “creep”—Joey (aka Cold Hearted Tool) was sent packing along with his painfully stupid and insecure girlfriend Ashley.
But on to the fun stuff! As the boys from Tool Academy tried to learn some fidelity, the gadget-geek in us couldn’t help but to think about high fidelity. As in sound.
