If you hardly know anyone with a Blu-ray player, it’s understandable.  There aren’t tons of movies yet on Blu-ray, plus the prices continue to fall so what’s the rush?  What if the pricing was actually reasonable and the packaging small and elegant, hell, gorgeous, like Amex Digital’s new $289 Portable Super Multi Drive Blu-ray Disc player?

But wait, in the words of the infomercial shill, there’s more: it’s also a burner!  Yup, whether you’re at home or on the road, you can play and burn both Blu-ray and regular DVDs with this drive.

There’s one other feature that caused me to make porno-like sounds when I read it: it doesn’t require a separate power source — it can take its power right from the USB port on your computer.  OK, I’m breathing unusually heavy now…
