So we’re breaking our usual mode with this one, but when we caught wind that epaper was finally making its way to our newsstands, we just had to let our dear readers know.
Indeed, for their 75th anniversary, Esquire magazine’s October issue is going steadfast into the future and visually into the world of Harry Potter. Incorporating Amazon Kindle’s e-paper technology, it will feature an electronic ink display cover powered by a special battery said to last for approximately 90 days. The cover, which will flash the words “The 21st Century Begins Now”, reflects the issue’s subject matter which focuses on future issues, people, and ideas. No images have been leaked yet, but the issue should be out by mid-September. Because of the high production costs involved, only 100,000 copies will hit newsstands, so technology lovers alike, be sure to pick up your copy early as it’s sure to become a collectors item. On a side note, maybe Playgirl, who closed their print operations yesterday, should have tried a similar gimmick.

I’ve been thinking of getting a Kindle for a while now, this definitely seems like a really good idea, and I love that it won’t waste the paper!!
